And Guy thought the elliptical wasn't getting enough use...

The Big Day
Adam planned a little halloween get together and we invited a few friends. It was nice and low-key and we really enjoyed ourselves. While waiting for the guests to arrive, Adam decided to take a few (actually more like 30) pictures outside. So here are a couple...
Our third home in this city in 14 months:)
self-portrait (went a little overboard on the "blood", right?:)
Cute butterflies, right?!
Our super mario friends:)
So, yeah, I changed Jack and Sadie's costumes to a cute lil devil and a cute lil angel. And, just for the record, the only way that I chose who was going to dress up as who was solely by availability of clothes! Jack happened to have the red options, and Sadie had more white. They're both angels to us! (And little devils every once in a while too.) So here's Jack, our cute little devil! Guy was right... he does look kinda like a little girl. A pretty chunky little girl;) Is it the red? Or the fact that he's wearing Sadie's leggings under the red shorts?
Adam loved being in charge of handing out candy to the trick-or-treaters! We only had a handful of knocks, though (any takers for the leftover candy?).
Scary, scary Dracula
The troublemakers!
We attempted trick-or-treating for a little bit. Great Halloween weather... in the 40s!
While Adam was getting in the shower to wash the Dracula off, Jack and Sadie found his candy stash!
Oh yeah...
So excited for the candy! R.I.P. to the kit-kat in his hand, btw. Minutes later it took a bath in the toilet... before Adam had a chance to flush it. ...TMI? ;)
"Ghostly" curtains, glow-in-the-dark jello (that didn't really work, bummer), oreo truffles, cookie-cutter cheese in nummy chili... what more makes a halloween party?!
Of course the oreo truffles got dressed up too!
Happy Halloween!

We tried
Well, we tried tonight. I didn't get any pictures at our ward's Halloween party, which was pretty amazing btw. I snapped a few on my phone when we got home (camera battery died!) though, so they'll have to do until I can take some more on Halloween day itself. Plus, I apparently need to modify Jack and Sadie's costumes. They're supposed to be a football player and a cheerleader, but their costumes looked kinda lame because they wouldn't hang on to their props! (Jack has a football and Sadie has some pom poms, etc… guess we'll have to work on it for Monday.)
This football player wouldn't hurt a fly:)
Love her cute little looks!
Sadie was scared beyond words to wake up from her nap only to find Dracula had replaced her favorite big brother! She eventually calmed down, but was easily set off again.
Adam, on the other hand, was THRILLED to be Dracula! He was so excited to do the face make-up and practice his Dracula moves (apparently he has some). Blood and all.
Happy (almost) Halloween!
P.S. We showed up at the party only to find out that they were having a chili cook-off competition. I mentioned to Guy that apparently I should've put more thought into it! Turns out... we ended up with 2nd place! Oh yeah. I've got mad chili skills, I guess. ;)

What the heck we've been up to
I've been slightly glued to my (new:) macbook for the past few days, transferring and updating pictures and figuring out the whole mac thing. Once I got all my pix (somewhat) together, I decided that it was about time to finally update this stinkin' blog! So this is literally my 39th blog post in the last few days, covering our last 8 months! Big events here, folks. We're talking vacations, major birthday milestones, graduations, reunions and and random fun pix. But I cheated and edited the dates to show when they actually occurred and not when I finally got around to posting about them. So, if there are any readers of this blog left out there, please feel free to check out our last 8 months if you find yourself so bored... :)

Saying goodbye :(
Like I said, those 2 1/2 days went by way too fast. We had such a great time and hope we can get you guys out here again sometime soooon!!! This was a very quick attempt at an all-kid picture before loading them up in the car for Karin to make that 6-hr road trip again.

Cousin visit!
We didn't have them for nearly long enough, but we sure made the most of our 2 1/2 days! And these guys sure made the most of the dirt hill in the yard... with the help of a lot of water. Yikes... that ended in a serious hose-down of the kids!
James
Lizzy
Adam
Joseph
Luckily Abby was content out of the mud:)
More fun times swimming!
Anna-girl
And, of course, more cotton candy time:)
Playing games...
Playing with "baby" (crazy that mine are more toddler than baby now!)
...And lots of time exploring outside
My personal highlight of the visit was blueberry picking! We just happened to hit this farm the morning that they opened up a whole new patch of berries... we all had a great time! Not to mention... free samples while we picked!
Mmmm... look so good you could just eat 'em!
Once she discovered this bucket full of berries, Sadie was quite happy just sitting there eating to her heart's content. It was pretty funny. I swear she was there for over 15 minutes, snacking on berries.
Jack took a brief break from running crazy through the bushes to steal a few blueberries from Sadie.
What a mouthful!
We scored!
We love to share:)
Aw, cute big brother
It turned into a pretty warm morning
All-in-all, we ended up with 12 pounds of blueberries! Thank goodness we have plenty of blueberry-lovers to take care of it all.
Before we headed home, we decided to stop by Guy's work to check out the fun stuff there. Too bad I forgot socks for the kids so they could play in the play area...but we still had a fun time playing around.
Back to the house
Happy Sadie girl waking up from her nap!
Peek-a-boo
More exploring and fun in the yard
Of course we had to do something with those blueberries! Seriously, 12 pounds!
It was cute, Sadie and Joseph were reading a book with Karin. About 30 seconds later Yo Gabba Gabba came on and Sadie was immediately trying to get off of her lap so she could watch the show.
Like a magnet, I tell ya
Sweet girls:)
I had made this "Movie Good Guys and Bad Guys" memory game on a poster for Adam's party. Things were way too crazy that night and I forgot all about it, so we pulled it out with the kids and had fun matching good guys and bad guys from different movies.
The kids finished the game just in time for, oh yeah, warm blubbery pie! Oh man it was sooo good. And it was even better for breakfast the next morning!
