Christmas time... family visits 2/4

We were able to spend the rest of Christmas Eve evening at my parents house and the kids got plenty spoiled with love, attention, and of course a few toys:)

Papa and Grandmama had a couple of special gifts for the grandkids

Lizzy, Anna, Grandmama, Adam, and James

 Snakes for the boys!

I have come to hate these things! They're motion/sound activated, and they'll go off late at night when you least expect it. They've got these red flashing eyes and they hiss and wiggle like that snake from Harry Potter. It's not allowed out of Adam's room;)

 Pirate, I mean, Uncle Jimmy

The holiday season can get pretty stressful for 5-year-olds...

Grandmama had a special surprise for all of us. She had an audio recording of her mom (my namesake, Granma Barbara) reading a Christmas story. So we listened to Granma read the story while the grandkids acted it out with the nativity pieces. What a cool surprise!

 Papa and Jack-Jack

Don't you love these jammies?! They're like fat little candy-cane babies!

Ah, my sister knows me all-too well. "Cereal: It's what's for dinner!" (..and occasionally lunch, and breakfast, and ... :)

Despite this look that we happened to get on camera, Adam loved his planet marble set. He saw it at costco and suddenly he became obsessed with it! Good thing Santa was nice this year. And it was quite the time commitment to assemble this thing, too! It took my Dad and I both a full day working on it. Only to have to take it apart and start over when we brought it back home. Guy was bound and determined to get it done, though, and we finally got back to it the other day. But what kid wouldn't love this marble set... glow-in-the dark marbles, planets, flashing lights, sounds, it's complete over-stimulation!

And we got "Despicable Me" as a family gift... one of the few DVDs that we now still own, thanks to our burglars a few weeks ago! (Grrrr)

Mamaw and Papa with the little candy canes:)

Adam surprised us with this awesome "hand"-made pillow that he created in Kindergarten. They even painted their own wrapping paper. He was so proud!

Uncle Jimmy is so thoughtful with his hand-made gifts too...
