We were also able to get in on an ATV tour. This was fun! And very dirty. It was great:) This is where they filmed a bunch of movies, including Jurassic Park. Cool stuff.
This just happens to be the same spot where Indiana Jones swings from a rope into the water. We didn't use the same rope, but you could see the original tied up next to the one we were using. The guides were really great at giving us detailed history and other info on the areas. Not just movie stuff, but cool cultural information as well.
Fun:)
I can't remember the Hawaiian name, but this is called the "shy-shy" plant. It's called that because when it's touched, it closes up on itself.
Like I said, SO dirty! I guess it didn't help that my driver kept aiming at hitting every mud puddle within reach:)
Some more cultural history. This little hole in the ground used to be used by the Hawaiian women to make poi while their kids played in the water nearby.
Trees lined up like this meant that you were entering royal property
This waterfall was FREEZING, but a lot of fun!
